What do all of these people, and millions more throughout America, have in common?

They are all alumni of Boys & Girls Club of America.

While many Club alumni have achieved particular distinction in fields such as entertainment, business, politics and sports, the average alumnus is not famous. Most have achieved success by getting an education, raising a family, serving their country, pursuing a career or supporting the community.

Millions have benefited from belonging to a Boys & Girls Club since the first Club opened its doors in 1860. Based on research by Louis Harris & Associates, Club alumni have very strong feelings about their individual Club experiences:

80%

said Club staff helped them learn right from wrong.

95%

indicated the Club was the best thing available in their community.

52%

said participating in the Club "saved my life".

Ways to Volunteer

Volunteering at BGCC

At the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton, volunteers have a tremendous impact on the youth of our Club and their families. The enthusiasm, dedication, expertise and experience of our volunteers make a world of difference. We rely on the support of hundreds of volunteers each year to play a major role in the success of our club. Regardless of where your interest may lie, we can use your talents.

We need volunteers in the areas of sports, academics, fundraising, bingo or working on special events. Whether you want to become an individual volunteer or be part of a group of volunteers working on special projects there is definitely a place for you here at the Club.

If you are interested in volunteering and becoming a vital part of the Boys & Girls Club of Clifton, please contact Greg Reinholt at 973-773-0966 x133.

You need to complete a short application, come in for a brief interview and pass a through a background check.

Torch Club

Ages 11-13

Students between the ages of 11-13 are eligible to join the Torch Club. This group of young active volunteers follows the footsteps of their big brothers and sisters in the Keystone Club, fundraising, setting up events and gaining experience in the work field.

As junior volunteers, members of the Torch Club extend their time back to the community as well as maintain an understanding of service to the Club.

Keystone Club

Ages 14-18

High school teens between the ages of 14-18 are eligible and have the opportunity to join the Keystone Club; a national organization that is partnered with Boys & Girls Club of America that incorporates three pillars of success and achievement: Academic Success, Career Preparation, and Community Service.

With involvement inside and out of the Boys & Girls Club, the teens learn to utilize their skills networking with other organizations and volunteer their time giving back to the community, as well as attaining fundraising and cash handling skills.

As young leaders and mentors of the Boys & Girls Club, the Keystone Club aim to impact a positive influence towards the younger members of the Boys & Girls Club.

Youth of the Year

Sponsored by the Reader’s Digest Foundation, the National Youth of the Year Program is designed to promote and recognize service to Club and community, academic performance and contributions to family and spiritual life.

Competition begins with each Club selecting a Youth of the Year who receives a certificate and medallion then enters state competition.

Youth of the Year candidates must be members of the Club for at least two years prior to applying for YOY.
